Wedding Bells

Even though my blogging host has changed. I wanted to write put this post here as well to COMPLETE Vi's story and of course I want to put little updates on Violet throughout her life but my legacy will be on my www.challengeit.talkingsims.com

Violet woke up and could hardly believe that it was August 14, 2011 her wedding day. After many trials, tribulations, and amazing moments it all came down to this day. Violet would have A.J. by her side from now until forever. She took a deep breath as she slowly prepared herself for the ceremony. Wishing her parents could be there she began to cry thinking of the love her parents had for one another, and her dad's final words to her mom. Even the fact that before her dad's passing he told her how proud he was of her. Violet tried to push those thoughts aside to get through the day but she couldn't help it. Just then her friends came into the bridal room with energy, gowns, and makeup ready to get everyone dressed and ready.


The excitement was HIGH in the room as Violet and the girls got ready....

A light tap on her door startled the girls. Ashby was busy pinning Violet's flower in her hair so Della asked, "Who is it?" A very excited A.J. answered. "Barbie's soon to be husband!" Violet smiled. Della then asked if he wanted to see Violet now or wait. Well we all know that A.J. is patient but with wanting pictures taken he chose now. He walked into the room blind folded with Violet's photographer. The wedding party watched through skype that had been set up so that they could be a part of the moment but not take away for the romantic moment between Violet and A.J.

The blind fold dropped and there stood a stunned A.J. staring at his bride. His reaction made all the bridesmaids tear up and put a huge smile on Violet's face. "So... you like what you see?" Violet asked gazing into A.J.'s eyes. "Barbie... Violet... I don't know why I waited this long to make you my wife. You are the most beautiful sim I've ever seen."

A.J. then Gave Violet a dozen white roses. This was a huge surprise and she was in love with them. White roses are her favorite and for A.J. to have remembered that was beyond romantic. They wanted to kiss but with this being their wedding day they wanted to wait till they said I do.

Wisdom came in slowly knowing that the moment was still on an ultimate high but she so badly wanted to see her parents. Violet wanted to see Wisdom as well since she is the very important flower girl.

 

Wisdom was shocked at the sight of her mom. She looked over to her dad, "Daddy... isn't mom beautiful. She looks like a princess." A.J. smiled and leaned down to hug Wisdom. "Yes, your mom is beautiful and when you look in the mirror that's how you got your beauty." Violet then chimed in... "Wisdom, you look amazing... who did your hair sweetie?" Wisdom smiled and responded with, "Aunt Vanessa!"

 

Since the wedding wasn't going to be starting for a few hours the photographer wanted to get some group pictures. With Such a large bridal party and family they decided to do basic group photo's and then if they could get the more detailed ones they would. The first picture was of Violet, Ashby (maid of honor) Asher (grooms brother and best man), and of course A.J.


Wisdom was to busy playing the pinao  with Amber to come join this picture but the fun sound of chop sticks made the mood up beat and exciting.

But the photographer wanted a quick family photo so she called Wisdom over and she came quickly after Amber told her that she could always come back and play after she had the pictures taken. After a swift hug Wisdom ran over to get a family photo with her parents.

Things were going as planned till her phone rang. She was going to ignore it till she saw who it was. This was the LAST person Violet wanted to make mad on her wedding day since he was the only person who could ruin it. And no it wasn't Joe...

GRIM- Violet, congratulations on your wedding day. I see I wasn't invited.
Violet- Grim cut the crap what do you want?
GRIM- Well, I have a wedding gift for you... well more like 2.

This made Violet's head spin was it Dawn and Skyler the two babies Violet had but they passed away? but before she had the chance to ask Grim responded with, and no its not your kids. I actually have something else for you... they will be there soon and you will know they are from me.

Just then the photographer yelled "SIBLINGS AND PARENTS OF THE BRIDE"... Violet walked over to the best place to have the waterfall in the back ground. Standing alone she waited for her siblings. But then the photographer said "Bob you stand to her right and Betty you stand to her left.

Violet, trying not to cry, said. "It will just be my siblings... my parents are dead." But from behind her came a very familiar and missed voice. "Honey, we might be dead but do you really think we could miss our oldest daughter's wedding?"

The photographer took the picture before Violet spun around and hugged her parents as tightly as she possibly could. The moment was so pure and sweet the photographer didn't take pictures knowing that this was a very personal moment between Violet and her parents.

Violet- But how? (she asked wiping a tear away.
Betty- Grim has always had a secret crush on you. Knowing that for him to live a life out of the underworld would be hard he focused only on your happiness. But when Skyler passed away he felt all he was doing was hurting you.
Bob- So, he told us that since he couldn't bring Dawn and Skyler to you he would bring us to help support you. We only have today but we want you to enjoy your wedding and not focus on the fact we only have so much time.

Just then Violet siblings came up to get in the picture and gave hugs to their parents as well. They all took their placed and a very special picture was taken. One Violet could have never imagined possible.

The family moment was perfect. And of course more pictures where wanting to be taken but soon guests would be arriving so they figured to do the rest of the pictures after the ceremony and possibly at the reception since it would be inside.

Everyone was getting into position when Violet and A.J. escaped to be out of sight.

While in the back room waiting. A.J. had another gift for Violet. He told her that she was going to have to wait till AFTER the wedding to see it but that its shinny, pretty, and can be used everyday. This puzzled Violet and she then laughed and said, "my wedding band?" A.J. laughed and said NO, but you will have that soon won't you.

When Paster Gene popped in and told A.J. it was time. Violet jumped into his arms...
"I love you handsome" A.J. responded with, "I love you Barbie"

A.J. Left and Violets bridesmaids lined up to walk in. Violet's dad walked in as well and asked Violet if she was ready. Violet smiled and said "YES DADDY, I'm ready!"

NOTE FROM VIOLET:
Thank you so much ladies, we have been through so much and to have you here on this special, important, MAGICAL day... I couldn't have asked for a better group of girls. You have been there for me since day one and I'm honored to have you in my bridal party. I hope you each enjoyed the gift I gave you awhile back when you told me that you would take part in my bridal party.

Wisdom walked in followed by the bridal party and most of Violet's close friends. Violet was still heart broken that her good friend Kira Jones. But her flight was delayed and she couldn't make it in time by driving.

They all walked in and met at the front of the gazebo.

Since Violet found out her dad was walking her aisle. The song came on "You can let go now Daddy" As a slideshow appeared with pictures from her childhood with her dad.  There wasn't a dry seat in the house. Especially knowing that after today Violet would not see her dad again for along time.

When the slideshow finished Violet and her Dad proceeded to walk down the aisle while the music to the song played but with no words. Violet was so into the moment and couldn't keep her eyes off A.J.

Bob kissed Violet's cheek and whispered, "I wouldn't let you go unless I knew you would be taken care of." Violet hugged her dad and then walked up the stairs to meet A.J. She could tell he had been emotional and leaned in to assure him he was going to be ok.

Paster Gene: WELCOME!, this is a joyous occasion where the heavens sing and the almighty cries. For two of his children have come together be no longer be single spirits but be one united in holy matrimony.

Pastor Gene: Mark 10:6-9 ~ God made them male and female from the beginning of creation.  This explains why a man leaves his father and his mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.  Since they are no longer two but one let no one split apart what God has joined together.

Paster Gene then stepped away as Dawn Turner came up to read a poem...

Before stepping away Dawn gave Violet a quick hug and said "I promise not to break your stereo at the reception." This made Violet laugh just like Dawn knew it would. This is a running joke that Violet, Dawn, and Della created back when all 3 would have their DVD late night chats. They are greatly missed but never forgotten.

It was then time for Violet and A.J.'s wedding vows:

A.J. :: When my brother Asher told me about a girl who's heart is bigger than Texas, beauty that radiates like the sun, and she has been though more than most people encounter in a lifetime. I knew I had to meet you. Violet, you are truly and oustanding person. To call you my wife will be the greatest moment in my life next to the day you brought our little Wisdom into the world.  I promise to be a tissue, mood swing punching bag, provider, and the man you deserve from today and till forever. I promise to be not only a great husband but father to our children... I love you Violet, and if we live to be 100 I want to live to be 99 so I never have to live a day without you.

VIOLET :: When I was little I didn't see myself amounting to much, but you have made me strong when I was weak,  you helped me love when I felt I had no more love to give, and you you showed me how to forgive when all seemed lost. You are my rock and best friend. I promise to not get angry about the little things but remember never let yesterday use too much of today. I promise to share your burdens and joys as we journey though life together. I won't just be the best wife I can but also be the best mother I can to our daughter.  Ashley, I can't tell you how much it means to me that you chose me to share your ever after, I love you more everyday.

 

Wisdom then handed her parents the wedding bands. and stepped aside.

Ring vows Violet: Ashley James Lemi,  please accept this ring as a symbol of my love for you.  I promise to cherish you, and Love you, while  forsaking all others, and to be with you as long as we both shall live.

Amber Lights then walked to the piano grateful that she had the song memorized she had a hard time reading the music with teary eyes from the wedding vows that had been shared. She then delicately began playing  I am the luckiest by Ben Folds and Asher.. (A.J.'s twin brother) sang it. This was all taking place while Violet and A.J. lit their unity candle...

A.J. and Violet stood as Amber and Asher shared their musical talents. They wanted to kiss so badly but knew it wasn't time.
After finishing the song Violet, A.J., and Wisdom all walked over to Pastor Gene. He went on to read a scripture...

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ~ Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.  If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.  But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.  Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm.  But how can one be warm alone?  A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer.

Pastor Gene: By the power bested in me by the state of Texas I now pronounce you Husband and Wife... A.J, give your bride a kiss!

Everyone cheered and threw confetti. The reception was set up and they all headed over to see the couples first dance outside before entering the reception hall...

A.J.- So Barbie, are you ready for our forever?
Violet- I'm ready... as long as I have you!

Thank you for reading... Violet and A.J's reception will not be blogged about.
